The Best Beaches to Visit in Koh Yao Noi

If you’re planning to travel to Koh Yao Noi or are already on the island, here’s a list of the best beaches to explore.
Koh Yao Noi was one of our first islands in Thailand, and it stole our hearts. It remains one of our favorite destinations, and here’s an example of why this island is a hidden gem that many tourists overlook.
1. Klong Jark Beach
One of the most popular beaches on the island, located in one of the main areas. It boasts white sand and crystal-clear waters, perfect for starting the day with some kayaking.
ℹ️ TIP: You can enjoy an open-air full-body massage on this beach. The price depends on your negotiation skills, but you can get one for about $10-$15.

2. Buffalo Beach
Located near Buffalo Bar in Koh Yao Noi, Thailand, a great spot to grab a cold beer and enjoy live music.
You can also witness an incredible sunset here.
ℹ️ TIP: Perfect for an evening stroll—don’t miss it.

3. Potsai Beach
Another centrally located beach, situated in a fishing area, ideal for a leisurely walk and a swim in calm waters. This beach is often empty, with few tourists.
ℹ️ TIP: There’s a small hill you can hike to get a stunning view of the beach from above—don’t hesitate to explore the area.

4. Six Senses Beach
This beach is one of the island’s hidden secrets. Many tourists assume it’s a private beach for the luxury Six Senses Yao Noi Resort.
However, there’s a short path you can take—a 5 to 8-minute walk through a trail filled with trees and flowers—to reach this stunning beach, one of the most beautiful on the island.
ℹ️ TIP: You can safely leave your motorbike at the trail entrance.

5. Monkei Beach
This beach is something special, though accessing it is no easy feat. Located at the tip of the island and surrounded by mountains, getting there requires a 40-50 minute drive on a rough, unpaved dirt path.
Once you reach the end of the road, you’ll need to hike for nearly an hour to reach the beach. Trust us, it’s worth it.
ℹ️ TIP: Visit in the morning, as the tide rises after midday. Bring plenty of water and food if you plan to spend a few hours, as there are no amenities nearby. Be cautious if you’re riding a motorbike on your own.
