1. Le Petit Resto: Poisson & Herbs 🐟

Without hesitation, our favorite spot in Essaouira.

Here, the fish is incredibly fresh. The sole meunière is exceptional — a true moment of pleasure. Simple, authentic, perfectly cooked: for us, it is the best restaurant in the city.

Best time to go: lunchtime, to enjoy fish freshly caught.

2. Restaurant Dar Arch 🍽️

An experience more than just a restaurant — you literally find yourself in the chef’s living room.

The atmosphere is intimate and authentic, with only a few tables. The chef serves the dishes himself, talks with guests and creates a warm, friendly vibe throughout the evening. You might even end up sharing your table with other travelers. If you enjoy genuine, human experiences, you will love this place.

Best time to go: dinner, for a relaxed and authentic atmosphere.

3. Caravane Café 🎶

The perfect place for a lively evening.

Live music, concerts, sometimes dancers… the atmosphere is magical. The food is good and the prices are slightly higher than average, but totally justified by the setting and the experience.

Good to know: Book in advance and ask for a table in the main room to enjoy the show. Without a reservation, you may be seated in another room without live music.

Best time to go: evening, from 8pm.

4. Jooba Crêpes 🥞

The perfect spot for a sweet break.

Huge, thick and delicious crêpes for around 2.5€. Nutella, Oreo, fruits, coconut, chocolate, caramel… over 40 toppings to choose from. Easily the best crêpes in Essaouira.

5. Bonzo ☕

The ideal place for breakfast or brunch.

A varied menu, fresh products and very good quality overall.

Good to know: Go early — if you don’t, you may wait up to an hour for a table. The latte is excellent, and the fresh orange juice for 2€ (a huge takeaway cup) is delicious and a must-try.

Best time to go: morning or early afternoon.

6. M’Riste Jouhar 🍲

A fully Moroccan atmosphere.

Traditional decor, warm ambiance and very authentic. We recommend the tajines, which are delicious. The fish, however, is less memorable.

Little extra: The owner is incredibly kind — he offered us coffee and a selection of pastries. We truly enjoyed every bite.

Best time to go: dinner.
